Akron Public Schools Kickoff for Issue 6

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 ― Akron Public Schools Issue 6 campaign kickoff will be held Thursday, October 12, at 3:30 p.m. at Lock 3 in downtown Akron. The campaign kickoff is being held in conjunction with the "Lights On Afterschool" program also taking place at Lock 3.

Speakers include students participating in after-school programs, district and city representatives, and a representative from the Knight Foundation, which sponsors the after-school program called Perkins Activities Central.

Immediately following the press conference, visitors can participate in the "Lights On Afterschool" event. Activities include Mad Science activities, animals from the Akron Zoo, drumming and storytelling, relay races and games, tumbling, and much more.
