Reminder ― Akron Public Schools kickoff for Issue 6

Wednesday, October 11, 2006 ― Akron Public Schools Issue 6 campaign will kick off tomorrow, Thursday, October 12, with a 3:30 p.m. press conference at
Lock 3 in downtown Akron.

The Issue 6 kickoff is being held in conjunction with “Lights On Afterschool,” a nationwide campaign to illustrate outstanding after-school programs including Akron¹s own Perkins Activities Central and Akron After School. Hundreds of students, including marching bands and choirs, are expected to fill Lock 3 and participate in a variety of after-school activities ranging from relay races and golfing to tumbling and Mad Science.

Issue 6 volunteers will be on hand to register absentee voters and distribute information.
