Students who graduate from high school prepared for work or college are vital to a strong city. A well-educated workforce is important to attracting and keeping businesses and jobs in Akron. Issue 6 ensures academic programs will continue to grow and develop the educated workforce necessary for a thriving city.

Issue 6 is a 7.9-mill operating issue for Akron Public Schools that will generate about $23 million annually. Issue 6 will cost the owner of an $80,000 home about $16 per month. Akron's economy and businesses cannot grow without good schools. Issue 6 protects our educational programs and our children's future. Issue 6 keeps Akron's economy and neighborhoods strong.

The success of our schools, community and neighborhoods — not to mention our personal investments and commitments — are at stake. We need issue 14 to protect what we have and to move Akron into the future.

Every single vote counts! Each of us must play a part; we can't have free riders. At $7 per month on the average home, the price is right. Please, after no new levy since 2006, we respectfully ask you to be an "APS Voter" in 2011.

There is so much at stake — for all of us. Education matters.
